Established in 1957, Waratah Cricket Club is a proud foundation member of the Darwin & District Cricket Competition, with a rich and successful history. The Waratah Warriors are a family-oriented club that warmly welcomes players of all ages and abilities - from beginners to first-class cricketers - who share a passion for the game.

Our home ground is the iconic Gardens Oval, perfectly positioned between Mindil Beach and Darwin’s Botanic Gardens. Located less than one kilometre from Darwin’s CBD, it is the only ground outside Marrara to have hosted international cricket in Darwin.

We field teams across Junior, Senior Men’s and Women’s competitions, and proudly deliver the Woolworths Blasters program for children aged 5–10. The club is supported by a strong group of Cricket Australia accredited coaches, with continued development of our Junior program remaining a key priority.

Over the past five years, the club has experienced significant growth in participation and performance, re-establishing itself as a powerhouse in the Darwin & District Cricket Competition.

During this period, Waratah Warriors have celebrated multiple successes, including Premier Grade Premierships, the CDU Top End T20 title, Women’s Premier Grade Premierships, B Grade Premierships, and Sunday Grade Grand Final victories - a true reflection of the club’s strength across all levels.

The club has also been home to several first-class cricketers who have progressed to Australian domestic and international cricket, including Ashley Chandrasinghe, Jason Sangha, Jack Wood, Rhyan Hackney, Param Uppal, and Will Parker, Sam Elliot, Jagadeswara Koduru along with many talented grade players who continue to be proud members of the Waratah family.

In Season 2026, Waratah Warriors aim to field a minimum of 14 teams across Junior, Senior Men’s and Women’s competitions.

We invite you to be part of the Waratah Warriors in 2026.

GO TAHS.
